You probably know by now that if you want to marry Filipina women, it’s not anymore surprising. Over the years since the first international pen pal services started in the 1970’s, Filipino women have gained the reputation of being very good wife material especially to foreign men.

How Do You Check If She's Real?

In a perfect world, to marry Filipina women would be this easy – you write to a few them and in due time, be in a relationship with just one Filipino woman and marry her (and incur travel costs along the way). Unfortunately, the Internet has factored in the “danger factor” in online dating.

And while it should be said that majority of Filipino women are sincerely looking for men to marry, there are a few Filipino women out there who date foreign men for a living, meaning they’d have several boyfriends at the same time, and ask for small amounts of money from each of them. (If you want to know about this scam as well as other scams, check this resource on problems dating Filipino women.)

Then there are women who are stuck in unhappy marriages and want to divert their attention by dating men online. Really, there’s really no way of knowing how many types of scams there are out there.

But then again, these should not deter you from marrying a Filipino woman because like we said earlier, majority of women are decent, but you really do have to be careful. For starters, NEVER ever send money for whatever sob story she may tell you, whether it’s a dying mother, etc. This is especially true if you just met her.

Above everything else though, trust your instinct as you would trust it when you strongly feel that something is wrong.

Also, chose your Filipino dating site carefully. There are websites out there that have a stronger policy against scams and will promptly suspend any account that’s been found to be abusive. For example, the dating site Cherry Blossoms features “Block This Member” as well as “Report This Member” beside the profile pictures of each member. Such features come in handy if you find yourself being the subject of abuse.
