If you’re one of those men who are in the senior category (meaning 50 years or older), you’ve probably heard about how young Filipino women love to marry into May-December marriages with nothing but love for the husband.
While it’s somehow unbelievable, it would seem true that many Filipino women prefer men who are tall, white and senior. I know because I grew up in Cebu where and it’s common to see gray-haired, sometimes ailing old Western men with young Filipino women especially inside the shopping malls, with some women even carrying their babies with them.
And yes, among my friends, there’s 61-year old Canadian married to a 27 year old Filipina and they’ve been married since 2006, by the way.
So, how can you get the same level of stability in the family arena? And do Filipinas really like older men?
Filipino Dating for Senior Men: We Love Strong Men
Although Philippine society is mostly matriarchal (in some cases, the woman is the main breadwinner and the man provides the supplemental income), most Filipina women actually like to led, but not just by any man.
In a society where life can be hard, Filipino women understandably prefer women who are financially stable and who can take of their basic needs. (For that matter, I don’t think any self-respecting woman would want to be with a man who isn’t a good provider.)
We also love men who are who know what they want and don’t on us for small decisions – things like where to go for dinner, what to do this weekend, etc. Having someone who is financially stable – and emotionally strong at the same time – gives Filipino women a sense of security. Unfortunately, it’s rare to find those traits among Filipino men, especially those who are in their 20’s and early 30’s.
It’s not surprising then to find Filipino women who put in “age doesn’t matter” in their profiles at a Philippine dating site. (Actually, “age doesn’t matter” is a popular expression in the Philippines.)
Here’s piece of advice though: if you want to make your relationship with a Filipino woman work, never ever make a critical remark about the Philippines and Filipinos in general when talking to a Filipina.
Filipino women be sensitive and proud (in that order). That said, dating Filipino women, and finding true love, for senior men can be easy if you’re able to provide security to any woman.
